Cross Country Form
August 25, 2009
We've talked about good form a lot over the first week, and I figured it would help everyone to see some videos describing good form. This should especially help you heel runners out there so you can have a better idea of what it means to run on the ball of your foot. There are three videos I recommend that demonstrate all-around good form. This video talks about form in general while the other two talk about upper body form and lower body form. While I recommend watching all three videos the final video is important for those who are interested in where their foot should land while running.
I also want to congratulate everyone for their effort at the time trial on Monday. All of last year's records were taken down, and most of them were beat by a few minutes. Caroline holds the new 7th grade girl's record with a time of 14:41, James holds the 7th grade boy's record with his run of 14:50, Anna (who previously held the 7th grade girl's record) set a new 8th grade girl's record of 14:40, and Justin Vacha set a new 8th grade boy's record of 13:50. We had a number of runners who also would have topped last year's records so great job all around!
