End-of-Summer Time Trial

Another Endurance Camp is coming to an end. We had our end-of-the-summer time trial on Monday and our runners pushed through the wind to try and beat their times from the beginning of the summer. Everyone did their best, but we would like to recognize our age-division winners as well as everyone who set a personal record.
Age-Division Winners
The time trial was split up into a 5th/6th grade race and a 7th/8th grade race. Both races were held on the Yorkville High School track. Ivan Westcott led the 5th/6th grade race wire-to-wire, as he did at the beginning of the summer, and set a personal record (P.R.) of 6:06. The 6th grade girls had a new champion in Karissa Brown, who did not run the first time trial, but ran a great time of 7:11, which was faster than the time she ran in P.E. at the end of the school year. The 5th grade winners were Josiah Gulbro, who ran a 6:50 and Anna Hunter, who ran a 7:45 and also won the beginning-of-the-season time trial.
The 7th/8th grade race also had wire-to-wire winners. Alex Loos and Colleen O'Connor, who had been training with the high school team over the summer, came back to win the 8th grade race with times of 5:45 and 5:59, respectively. For runners who were with the youth Endurance Camp all summer, Cole Bruck and Victoria Crawford had the fastest times of 6:07 and 6:26. The 7th grade winners were Mark Mattson and Madison Grandys, who ran times of 6:19 and 7:01, respectively.

P.R. stands for "Personal Record," and we always want to recognize runners who run their best times. The runners below either beat their beginning-of-the-summer time or their time from last year's Endurance Camp.
