2014 Summer Endurance Camp
April 11, 2014
Summer can make a huge difference for a cross country athlete. Runners who spend the summer without doing any running will find they are way behind those who have been training over the summer months. Every season we have runners who make huge improvements from seventh grade to eighth grade. If you want to be the next Rio Lara or Emily Berge this fall, you definitely need to be running in the summer.
Endurance Camp is the best way to train for the coming cross country season. Coach Martin, Coach Miller, and Coach Nauman will all be at camp this summer as well as other coaches and volunteers from the community and high school cross country team. We can attribute last season's success to the fact that most of our team participated in Endurance Camp.
Endurance Camp Information
There will be one week off of Endurance Camp this summer during the fourth of July week. Other than that week, Endurance Camp will run from June 9 through August 1 from 7:15 to 8:45am every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We will meet at the high school track on Mondays and Wednesdays and at Silver Springs on Fridays.
Endurance Camp forms are due to Coach Muth at the high school no later than June 1. Forms turned in after that date will be charged an extra $10. The cost this year will be $75, which included an Endurance Camp t-shirt.
The youth Endurance Camp is open to all incoming fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight graders whether or not they plan to participate in cross country. Encourage your friends to come out to camp to make the summer even more rewarding.
