YMS Cross Country

Congratulations Alexx Nauman and Samantha Keane

Every week of the cross country season we give out two awards. The first award is our Runner of the Week Award, which goes to a runner who we feel had a great week of practice and/or races. This doesn't always go to one of our fastest runners as it is meant to highlight someone who stood out during a week.

Our other award is the Sportsmanship Award, which is given to someone who shows good sportsmanship during the week. This is a tough one to give out since we encourage everyone on our team to try their hardest and support their teammates.

Our Runner of the Week was Alexx Nauman for his leadership and the fact that he broke our 8th grade boys time trial record during the first time trial. We hadn't expected any records to go down until possibly the second time trial.

Our winner of the Sportsmanship Award was Samantha Keane. Sam is not one of the fastest runners on our team, but she always gives her best effort and is a good role model for some of our new runners. She always encourages other runners and does her best to be a positive influence on the team.
