State Schedule

The State meet is getting closer so we wanted to clarify a few things for this weekend.
The school will hold a pep assembly for the team on Friday at 2:10pm in the middle school gym. Parents and other family members are welcome to attend.
Because the majority of our runners are going down to Normal on Friday afternoon there will be NO PRACTICE on Friday. State runners should get an easy mile or two in if they won't be in Normal.
Runners who are going downstate on Friday should be at the course no later than 6pm. The course is at Maxwell Park in Normal, which is next to Parkside Junior High. We will take an hour to run the course and talk strategy. After practice we will have dinner at the Olive Garden in Bloomington, which is located at 1701 E. Empire Street. Runners will need to have money for this if their parents are not with them. After that it is back to the hotels and lights out to get a good rest for the big race.
On Saturday there will be a bus at 7am to take anyone on the team who did not go down on Friday to Maxwell Park. Breakfast will be available for our state runners at 9am. Anyone else who would like something for breakfast should email Coach Miller what they want. We will be eating at the course so the food can't be something that needs to be heated or kept frozen. Everyone on the team is encouraged to come down if they can to cheer on Cody and the girls team. Coach Martin will be on the bus, and it should be back to Yorkville around 6pm.
Finally, you can read the state meet preview at the IESA website. We brought the preview to the attention of our team today and noted that Yorkville wasn't mentioned as one of the teams in the hunt for the top 4. We are going into state as an underdog, but our girls have seen the times necessary to place at state and know that a top 4 finish is well within our grasp. Good luck this Saturday!

Haha, you guys are gonna do awesome! ;) I wish I could go to State with you guys... just get First Place for me!!! Luv u all!!
