On To State
October 8, 2011
For the second year in a row Yorkville Middle School Cross Country is heading to State. Unfortunately, the boys missed out by finishing in 4th place, but that doesn't make our season any less successful. This was the best boys team we have ever had and we would have had our best finish at the State meet if we had made it as a team. We were in a pretty tough Sectional and the Conference race two days before the Sectional race really hurt both of our teams so I hope no one gets too down about their performance today. Just make it a goal of your to work even harder in the off-season and over the summer to come back stronger next year as an 8th grader or with the high school.
The girls finished 2nd to Channahon by 2 points, again. This may be disappointing to some of you, but it will really matter next weekend when we are running at State. We handed out some information to the runners on the bus and everyone else can pick it up at practice on Tuesday.
Finally, thanks to all of the fans who came out to the meet today, parents and runners. We had more support than any other team at the meet, sans Troy, and it was great to see. Practice next week is required for all State runners and alternates, but anyone else is free to join us as long as you take it seriously. A bus will be available next weekend at 7am to take any runners to State who would like to watch the race. Also, any runners who did not get an off-season workout packet can download it here. Thanks for a great season, Foxes!

Even though the boys team did not make state, today was still a great day!! im am always so proud to say that i am on the cross country team because, everyone is like a secound family to me. And also girls take this into consideration; last year channahon got 6th in state so even if we didnt win our section we came 2 points away from a team that got 6TH IN STATE!!! :D
