Yorkville Regional Champs

The State Series for high school cross country is a little different than the State Series in middle school. Instead of just a Sectionals-State series high school includes a Regional race before Sectionals. The top 5 teams in each Region advance to Sectionals and the top 5 teams in each Sectional advance to State. The Yorkville high school teams took their first step towards State by winning their Regional in Sandwich on Saturday. The girls won their Regional for the third straight year while the boys won for the fourth straight year. Former YMS runner Zak Arcara ran a 16:44 3-mile to finish 6th on the team and 9th overall. Additionally, former YMS runner Justin Vacha is an alternate for the team as a freshman. You can see the full results at the high school team's website.
