Yorkville Middle School Cross Country

State Results

October 16, 2010

Congratulations to both of our teams for their great performances at the IESA State Cross Country Meet. Not only did Yorkville make State for the first time in only our second year in the IESA, but we made some noise as well. The girls team, consisting of 5 7th graders, placed 22nd in the state of Illinois, with Erin Reynolds finishing in 79th with a time of 12:52, Olivia Reese coming in 104th at 13:04, Gianna Salzbrunn in 106th at 13:04, Sydney Beach in 139th at 13:17, Rebecca Jasutis in 162nd at 13:26, Melissa Marshall in 209th at 13:58, and Brook Stuepfert in 230th with a time of 14:47. Most of the girls set personal records at the course even with a pretty brutal wind. Nice job girls!

The boys finished strong and came in 14th place. Jake Hoffert finished in 6th with a time of 10:50 to earn All-State honors. Luke Hoffert finished in 43rd with a time of 11:30, Kyle Rawle finished in 97th with a time of 11:54, Thor Hester finished in 150th with a time of 12:20, Mason Brant finished in 175th with a time of 12:29, Cody Hornyak finished in 191st with a time of 12:39, and James Daugherty filled in valiantly for the injured Chad Gholson, and finished in 195th with a time of 12:43.

You can see the full State results at the IESA Cross Country site. Everyone should take some time off from running and relax. We will have some details about running over the winter in the coming weeks. Great season everyone!
