Our Yorkville Middle School cross country team is heading to State for the first time and it is only the team�s second year in the IESA! A pep rally is planned for the team on Friday during advisory from 7:30 to 7:44.
The team will be leaving at 8am on Saturday for the meet at Maxwell Park in Normal. The girls race will begin at 11:45 and the boys race will begin at 12:30. The top 25 runners and top 4 teams will win awards in each race. You can view a map of the course here.
Before the awards ceremony at 2:30 we will be having lunch at Avanti�s in Normal. Parents and siblings are welcome to join us, but please send an email to Coach Miller at demiller@yorkville.k12.il.us with how many people you will have joining us at lunch. Please send money with your athlete if you will not be joining them for lunch.
Maxwell Park is located just next to Normal Parkside Junior High at 101 N. Parkside Road in Normal. Parking is available at the junior high and along Gregory Street.
T-shirts will be on sale at State inside Parkside Junior High. T-shirts will be $16, long-sleeve t-shirts will be $18, sweatshirts will be $22, and hoodies will be $29.
If anyone wants to take their athlete home from the meet they must follow the same procedure as all of our away meets. A family member needs to sign out their athlete with Coach Miller or Martin in order to leave the meet with them.
