Sectional Runners

October 3, 2009

I hope everyone had fun at today's race and at mini-golf afterward. I think Tim and I tied for the most hole-in-ones with 2. Photos from today are up already so check them out. We have two meets this week besides Sectionals. We have our last home meet on Monday against Traughber and Sandwich and we have our conference meet at Thompson on Thursday. We also will have our Awards Night on Friday from 7 to 9pm at the middle school cafeteria. We will send more information about Awards Night later this week.

Sectionals will be on October 10, and we announced our Sectional runners at Silver Springs today. There are 7 runners and 3 alternates and we want to emphasize that it was incredibly hard for Coach Martin and I to pick these teams. There were many runners who had similar times so we looked at other things as well such as effort during practice and attendance. We picked 8th graders over 7th graders when we could since the 7th graders will have another shot next year. Our Sectional runners will go on to State if we make it as a team. Any runners who did not make Sectionals may ride with the team on the bus if they want to cheer their teammates on. We also encourage runners to run Endurance Camp over the summer to get in shape for the next cross country season.
