I had no idea there were going to be so many teams at the Washington Aurora meet, and I have to say I was impressed to see our runners step up to the competition again. Rotolo had an incredibly good team, especially on the girls side, and that is the kind of competition we will see at Sectionals and, hopefully, State. Almost everyone ran a mile PR at the meet, and, although the flat course was a part of the fast times, I think everyone tried even harder than normal because of the good runners they were competing against.
The girl's team finished third to Rotolo and Herget. Rotolo had 18 points, Herget had 70, Yorkville had 86, Jewel had 105, Washington had 107, and Jefferson had 161. The boy's finished second to Rotolo with Rotolo at 21 points, Yorkville at 57, Jewel at 87, Herget at 111, Washington at 131, and Jefferson at 169. I hope to see everybody at today's home meet at Harris Park. Let's see how our runners respond to two meets in a row.
