Our 2018 Captains
August 4, 2018
Nearly 20% of our runners applied to be team captains this year. Not only were there a lot of application, but they were all high-quality from runners we think are already leaders on our team. While we couldn't pick everyone, below are the runners we did pick along with a quote from their application detailing why they thought they could help our team as a captain.
Alex Stewart: "I like to help others...and do the most I can to help someone that needs help."
Allegra Triner: "I am supportive of my teammates and I keep the best attitude I can."
Ally Stancel: "I would try to have a positive attitude even when I'm not having the best day."
Ben Whaley: "I am a hard worker. I feel that I would be a great role model for my teammates."
Dillan Black: "I have many years of experience running and can help any of the new people joining."
Julia Hupp: "I want to motivate athletes to not only become better runners, but better people."
Makenna Edwards: "I truly do enjoy helping and supporting others. I have seen what it takes to be a true leader."
Max Rowe: "I will support my teammates while they're running. I will lead my group strongly in warmups, workouts, and recoveries."
Nick Childs: "[As a captain], you need to be able to motivate others when things aren't going your way."
Wrigley Glenn: "I also like to encourage others to do their best and try hard. If someone is having a bad day I will try to cheer them up."
