Meet Week

August 24, 2014

It's finally time to enter the competitive portion of our cross country season. This week will be a busy one.

Picture Day

Tuesday, in addition to being our first meet, is picture day for all YMS fall athletes. Cross country is the first sport to go so we will take pictures at 1:45 in the YMS gym. Runners should come to school wearing their uniforms. Those who earned uniforms at the time trial today will get them at Monday's practice. We will also hand out photo forms at Monday's practice if you want to buy pictures.

@Batavia Rotolo on Tuesday

Our first meet is at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:30 with the girls running first followed by the boys. Runners should come to pictures with everything they need for the meet which includes the following:

Spikes and Training Shoes
Water Bottle
Change of Clothes
Uniform
Form Roller, Massage Stick, and/or Lacrosse Ball
Sunscreen

Thursday's Meets

On Thursday we have two meets: a limited-entry meet at New Lenox and a home meet at Lyon Farm. We will announce the roster for New Lenox on Tuesday evening so you know which meet your runner will run. We are only allowed ten boys and ten girls at the New Lenox meet, which is at Alex M Martino Junior High, beginning at 5pm with the girls race. The top three teams will receive awards as well as the top ten individuals in each race. The bus will leave at 3pm from YMS for New Lenox.

Anyone who doesn't run at New Lenox will run at our home meet at Lyon Farm. There will not be a bus so everyone should meet at Lyon Farm at 3:30. We need volunteers for the meet, and you can sign up by going to our volunteer form.
