Endurance Camp 2014 Time Trial

Wednesday was our beginning-of-the-summer mile time trial for the youth Endurance Camp. The time trial helps us establish running groups for the summer, but we would like to recognize some great performances from Wednesday.
Age-Division Winners
Pictures below are our age-division winners from Wednesday. The time trial was split up into a 5th/6th grade race and a 7th/8th grade race. Both races were held on the Yorkville High School track. Ivan Westcott led the 5th/6th grade race wire-to-wire and ran an incredible time of 6:08 for the 6th grade boys. This time was 13 seconds faster than his mile time in P.E. at Yorkville Intermediate. Sara Klemm led the way for the 6th grade girls with a great time of 7:05, which is an equally fantastic time. She bested her P.E. time by an amazing 35 seconds! The 5th grade winners were Connor Kachlic, who ran a 6:45 and Anna Hunter, who ran a 7:26.
The 7th/8th grade race also had a wire-to-wire winner. 8th grade YMS cross country runner Hunter Benesh ran a 6:02, which is almost a minute faster than the time he ran at the end of last summer. 8th grader Dani Evans was our most improved runner last summer, and, coming of an age-division win in the Sweetness 5K, ran a time trial time of 6:42, crushing her time of 7:38 from the end of last summer's Endurance Camp. The 7th grade winners were Hannah Wolf and Austin Hunter, who ran times of 7:25 and 6:26, respectively.
Time Trial P.R.'s
P.R. stands for "Personal Record," and we always want to recognize runners who run their best times. Since this was the first time trial only runners who were at Endurance Camp last summer were eligible for a P.R., but we will have another time trial at the end of the summer so everyone will have a chance to set a record.
