Free Speed Clinic
March 2, 2013
Want to improve your finishing kick for cross country or get faster for the upcoming track season (it starts March 11)? Yorkville High School will be hosting a free speed clinic for Yorkville athletes on March 17. The middle school session for 5th through 8th graders will run from 12 to 2pm.
Coach Ryan Chatman and Dr. Jeff Schutt will run the clinic and teach athletes how to be more explosive in the two-hour session. Coach Chatman is a volleyball and basketball coach in Yorkville and has been instrumental in improving Yorkville's weight-lifting program through the Applied Personal Fitness P.E. class. He will be working with the cross country team this summer by developing lifting and recovery programs for Endurance Camp. Dr. Schutt is a certified chiropractic sports physician who has coached basketball and track. He has been named the track and field coach of the year and has been a speed coach for the Chicago Bears and the University of Illinois football team. He is also the co-founder of Don Beebe’s House of Speed in Aurora.
