Yorkville Middle School Cross Country

Free Speed Clinic

March 2, 2013

Want to improve your finishing kick for cross country or get faster for the upcoming track season (it starts March 11)? Yorkville High School will be hosting a free speed clinic for Yorkville athletes on March 17. The middle school session for 5th through 8th graders will run from 12 to 2pm.

Coach Ryan Chatman and Dr. Jeff Schutt will run the clinic and teach athletes how to be more explosive in the two-hour session. Coach Chatman is a volleyball and basketball coach in Yorkville and has been instrumental in improving Yorkville's weight-lifting program through the Applied Personal Fitness P.E. class. He will be working with the cross country team this summer by developing lifting and recovery programs for Endurance Camp. Dr. Schutt is a certified chiropractic sports physician who has coached basketball and track. He has been named the track and field coach of the year and has been a speed coach for the Chicago Bears and the University of Illinois football team. He is also the co-founder of Don Beebe’s House of Speed in Aurora.

If you are interested in registering you can download the registration form here. You can turn it in to the high school athletic office. Any questions can be directed to Coach Chatman at rchatman@y115.org.

Sorry to hear that, Meredith. Do you know if the school you'll be going to has a cross country team? At the very least you'll get warmer temperatures than what we've been having lately.

are we supposed to change for track on monday?

I was wrong about the date for track. Apparently because of space issues the start had to be moved back a week. I'm not sure if the form is at the middle school, but I know the high school has copies.
