User Comment Coach Miller on January 10, 2012

Technically we can't coach you after the cross country season is over so you're right on that count.

User Comment Jacob on January 9, 2012

Miller are you even allowed to run w/ us? And can you delete all comments involveing my last name not because it's offensive but because it would be halarious and clear up the page

User Comment Coach Miller on January 9, 2012

I'd love to run with you guys, but we have a track meeting at the high school tomorrow that I have to go to and we have finals this week. This is a great time to get some outside running in, though. I took some time off, but starting running with the high schoolers last week and it's great to get back into it.

User Comment Gianna on January 9, 2012

Hey guys, a few of us are staying after school tomorrow and going for a run. Nothing hard, just to get back out there. I have a watch, bring anything you would to practice. We'd probably end around 4:15 -same time practice usually does. We'll decide a route once everyone's there, and maybe even do the core workout. See you there! (MILLER, MARTIN, that means YOU.)

User Comment Julia Schultz on January 5, 2012

One of the best things about Cross country, its not just a sport. It is a lifestyle. One that is the life i want to live. Other runers say Baseball is better or basketball, but in reality, it doesnt compare. Running doesnt stop when you leave high school or college, it can go on for a lifetime. one day i heard about a 100 year old man that ran a marathon. i dont know if its really true but as soon as i heard that i wanted to be that person. in seventh grade i tried this sport to get faster for track, but i no idea what was to come in these two years. It was better than every other day in my life combined. i love everyone on this team and the BEST COACHES EVER! without cross country, i honestly think i would not be near the person i am today. <3 julia

User Comment natalie on January 5, 2012

User Comment Anonymous on January 5, 2012

oh, and i miss hearing people yelling at other runners at meets but at the time thinking that they were yelling at me : )

User Comment Anonymous on January 5, 2012

i love u gianna : ) i miss everything from cross country too!! i miss being one of the last ones back but feeling proud of myself either way knowing that i got better. i miss the first day where i didn't know anyone but, running as hard as i could and laughing with everyone else any ways. i miss chrissy making sure that i was ok and not going to pass out. i miss having the connections with everyone from our team. i miss seeing the eighth grade girls and wanting to run as fast as some of them. i miss yelling at the boys to run faster and to give the race everything that they had. i miss coach cool threatening us that if we fell during planks we would have to start all over. i miss running in the rain and being soaking wet but feeling like i was invinsable. i miss people yelling at me (and just so u know it did help me run faster). i miss eating popsicles on saturday practices and having sticky hands afterwords. i miss crying at home because i couldn't walk from sore muscles. i miss having to run in the puddles at our first meet and hoping they all weren't going to be like that. i miss running (mostly at troy) to cheer everyone on even though we were probably running more then that we did in the actual race. i miss texting other people in study hall and hoping the teachers didn't know. i miss yelling at the top runners to go faster even if they were already going super fast. i miss feeling the disappointment when someone passed me. i miss big bows in people's hair and the maddie pouf. i miss feeling accomplished whenever i got a pr sticker. i miss running down the hallways at school to go put stickers up and seeing who could jump high enough to touch the clocks. i miss wondering where schools were. i miss the ipad. i miss holding posters. i miss the banners we made for the coaches. i miss seeing the edited picture of mr martin on his office window. i miss seeing everyone from our team everyday. i miss alexx showing off his violin skills. i miss running around the school and seeing people from art club and stuff walking out of the school thinking we were crazy. i miss all the inside jokes. i miss the pictures in the sand. i miss playing one the playground. i miss knowing our name would be announced at award ceremonies and hoping it is at least 2nd but hopefully first. i miss waking up early and playing in the school while waiting for the bus that never comes on time. i miss having teachers see us sweating when they walked out of the school.i miss seeing people having to get a chair to put stickers up. i miss playing keepaway with shoes. i miss ships and sailors. i miss sharks and minows. i miss not knowing which way to go at forest preserves on saturdays and guessing randomly. i miss doing core work out with the centipedes at that one forest preserve that it rained. i miss anticipating cross country through out the school day. i miss running 3 miles without stopping for the first time. i miss looking at certain boys. i miss wearing layers and layers of clothes at some meets. i miss praying and cheering together right before we raced. i miss making sure everyone knew cross country was more of a sport than soccer. i miss having to do homework late at night because of cross country i miss wandering around random schools not knowing where the bathroom was. i miss port-a-potties and people shaking them while u were in it.i miss that movie where the little boy kept falling down. i miss the crowded bus rides where people sat on the ground. i miss the 2 water bottles in my lunch box. i miss the trophies and pictures. miss tiger trails and eating cookies at the award ceremony. i miss alexx's birthday when we got cookie cake. i miss loosing my voice. i miss seeing girls without their makeup. i miss seeing epic spikes. i miss walking the course before the race. i miss sydney getting alexx's medal for him at tiger trails. i miss being so proud of ourselves at belvideer. i miss cross country. i wish that the eighth graders could stay for another year. i love cross country <3 : )

User Comment Coach Miller on January 5, 2012

Gianna, that was the coolest thing to ever be posted on this website. Ask Coach Martin for a cookie.

User Comment Gianna on January 5, 2012

Dude, i miss Cross Country. Not the running at meets part. Hellllllll no. I miss how big of a family we were. And being with each other every day. (well, not Sundays. I don't think Miller could handle us 24/7. ;)) I want to go back to running to the park, running back. then going to play on the other park. I miss Martin playing in the sand. I miss Miller epically failing while sliding down the side. I miss running across the highway, and almost getting hit by semis (ERIN) I miss hanging out after Saturday meets and eating our body weight in pizza. (and cinnamon ;)) I miss State, and the pullout I HAD to share with Clarissa Perez. I even miss Sally waking me up at night with her little creepy doll face <3 . Dude, Track will be fun, don't get me wrong, but no where near Cross Country. We won't become a family, and we won't have Miller to yell at when we don't want to run. I miss Sharks And Minnows. I miss Ships and Sailors. I miss how competitive we were with those games. I miss warm up laps. Seriously. I miss the 200 meters we hated running. I miss the BIG 10. I miss the Core Workout. I miss rocking out. I feel like I can't even listen to "Sexy and I Know It" without the team. I miss the fro. Even though I see him everyday in Math. I miss that feeling, when you're thinking about the big Saturday Invite, where you feel almost high with adrenaline. I miss the Inspirational Sprint. I miss intervals (wow, I never thought I'd say THAT) I miss Wren Run. The Path To Nowhere. Van Emmon. Summer practice. Running 5 miles before most kids even woke up. I miss "getting lost". I miss muscle shirts. I miss yelling at Martin because he wouldn't let us wear just sports bras. I miss rebelling and tying our shirt up around our chest. I miss the crowded locker room. I miss getting yelled at during Study Hall because we laugh to loud. I miss lucky braids. And power-piggies. I miss our diaper bootys. I miss cracking up because the XS was too big for Erin. I miss going to football games Friday night, being offered nachos, and turning them down because "I have to run tomorrow". I miss carrying out the football player's pads because we think it makes us cool, and the football players are too weak. ;) I miss editing pictures of Martin and taping them to his door because we're just so cool like that. I miss checking out the cross country boys. (DIVINE, MAX, Alexx...) I miss piggy back rides. I miss counting in Spanish JUST to piss Erin off :) I miss striders. I miss stickers. I miss my Cars stickers. I miss refusing to take your owl stickers. I miss that feeling when you set a PR and everyone claps for you. I miss awards, and how we're the biggest, loudest, most obnoxious team, and we win anyway. I miss Belvidere Champions, 2 years running. I miss how I was about to cry after we ran at State. I miss crying at the Troy Invite because we were at the biggest meet in America, and our team took 3rd. We took top 25 at THE BIGGEST FREAKING MEET IN THE NATION. I miss yelling at the boys to go faster. I miss the weather. 90 degrees one day, -5629476765 the other. I miss the day it poured, and Miller wouldn't let us run inside because that's not what champions do. I miss making weird noises when we pass our ex's house ;) I miss big thighs. And little bootys. I miss not being able to walk the next day, because we were stupid and didn't stretch after we ran. I miss the scavenger hunt, and I had to run 2 and 1/2 miles in FLIP FLOPS. I miss making the Library ladies give us a pen. I miss running in the middle of the high schooler's football practice to get a picture with their coach. I miss ninja hopping the fence, just to get a picture of the baseball diamond. I miss running past Pizza Hut and feeling like I'm going to barf from the smell. I miss shin splints. I miss sore arms. I miss blisters. I miss wearing no socks with my shoes. I miss how bad my shoes reeked. I miss eating Thor Hester's soup. I miss fartleks. I miss the MOTHS you felt in your stomach, right when you stepped up to that line. I miss that feeling of "i need to run my butt off these next 2 miles. I don't care if I run it in 11 minutes or 30, I will run, and walk, well, crawl, away, knowing i gave it my all and my everything. i will not walk away saying, "i could have done better"". I miss water fights. I miss the iPad. I miss bus rides. I miss early mornings, late nights, and the time between. I miss running 100+ miles in 2 months. I miss taking my PR from 13:30 last year, to 11:59 this year. I miss working my butt off to stay at the top, because I had coaches, a family, a town, and my teammates all riding along my back. I miss all of it. I miss it so much. If I could, I would go back to August and do it all again, end at State, and do it all again the next day.
