Endurance Camp Begins
June 13, 2011
Endurance Camp starts today, June 13, and we hope anyone who is considering running cross country in the fall will join us. The main reason our boys and girls made State last season was because most of our top runners ran Endurance Camp.
Endurance Camp is important because it will help build up your mileage and, with that, your endurance. When the cross country season starts we have different workouts planned for runners who ran over the summer and those who didn't because runners who did not run over the summer typically need 2 to 3 weeks to get in shape. By that time we are ready for our first meet and our summer runners are already well ahead of everyone else.
Endurance Camp is also helpful for new runners as it will help you learn about the sport of running and meet a lot of new people. We consider Yorkville cross country to be a family and there is no pressure when you run over the summer so it is a much more relaxing environment to make friends and have fun.
We hope to see everyone at Endurance Camp. It will run through July 22 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6 to 7:30pm. If you have questions or would like more information feel free to contact Coach Miller.

Muth ordered the shirts and I know they will be getting in a little late since a lot of people signed up late, but we should have them next week.

is endurance camp still on for today or no because of rain
Coach Miller on June 14, 2011
I knew Muth did that with the high school runners but I didn't realize it extended to everyone in Endurance Camp. Go for it!

Thanks Mr. Miller I am going to do it and Muth said it was free since I am already in Endurance Camp.

Track Camp is a good idea since the workouts will flow better with the Endurance Camp workouts than whatever you do on your own. It's pretty cheap, as well, so hopefully cost isn't much of a factor. It's usually more fun running with others so that's another reason to do it. If the extra money isn't a big deal then I'd go for it.

We had a meet scheduled with Minooka but we had to cancel it because we had too many meets. I still think we have too many meets so we may have a few more that go away before the season starts.

Do you think it is a good idea to do track camp and endurance camp or endurance camp and running on my own Mr. Miller?

I know this has nothing to do with endurance camp but i was wondering why we dont have to run at Minooka this year. I mean thats a good things because i hate their hills but was just wandering
