Congratulations Sarah Megazzini!
March 10, 2011
We're proud to announce that current 8th grader Sarah Megazzini has been named Yorkville Middle School's nominee for the IESA Scholar Attitude Award. All of the coaches at YMS voted for one student/athlete and Sarah was the resounding choice to represent our school.
There are a number of qualifications for an IESA Scholar nominee:
- They must be in 8th grade
- They must have participated in an IESA sport for two years
- They must have a minimum GPA of 3.5
- They must demonstrate outstanding citizenship
Sarah met all of those requirements, and more, as a 2-year member of the cross country team. She was one of our team captains during this past season and displayed outstanding leadership skills in helping our girls team reach State for the first time. We are extremely proud of Sarah for earning this nomination and we wish her luck as the award winners will be announced this month.
UPDATE: Sarah won the IESA Scholar Attitude Award for her division and we couldn't be prouder of her. You can see the write-up about her award at the IESA site.
