East Aurora Meet Results and Sectional Runners
April 30, 2010
I wasn't expecting any fast times at the meet at East Aurora since it was more likely a runner would be blown off the track than set a PR. There were a few PRs that are marked with stars, but even those runners who didn't set personal records ran well. I loved the fact that almost everyone ran strategically and tried to use the wind to their advantage. The Hofferts did a great job of changing the lead on each lap of the mile and even though they still had trouble with the wind I think it was a good learning experience. The times and PRs are listed below, but I'd first like to recognize the distance runners who are going with us to the post-season, which includes Conference, Sectionals, and, hopefully, State.
Brey Kleinwachter and Kiara Pryor will be running the 800 for the 7th grade girls and James Daugherty and Mason Brant will be running for the boys. J'Keyah Swope and Jordan Bulliner will be running the 800 for the 8th grade girls while Andrew Folwer and Josh Myers will be running it for the 8th grade boys.
For the mile we will have Gigi Barajas and Tatiana Castillo in the 7th grade girls' race and Jake Hoffert and Luke Hoffert in the boys' race. J'Keyah Swope and Sara Erskine will be in the mile for the 8th grade girls and Jake Lindholm and Richard Swistara round out the mile for the 8th grade boys.
