Yorkville Middle School Cross Country

Tuesday Results and Channahon Invite

September 26, 2012

The results from Tuesday are in the Results/Records section. You can also see the full results below. The only PR set was set by Stasi Pekich, who set a PR by nearly 2 minutes! Hoover is such a tough course that we didn't expect too many PRs, but it was great to see everyone out there giving their best effort.

Channahon Invite

We don't have a time schedule for Channahon other than the fact that the two 6th grade races will begin at 9am and the bus will leave at 7:30am. yeah, team spirit:) lol we need more of that:) and we train hard (for the most part), play dodgeball (more of please?), and ships and sailors, and have this awesome website (thank you coaches), and alot more:) what team are you (Inspired) on?

User Comment Anonymous on September 29, 2012

i think our team is so good because not only do we practice very hard, we have so much encouragement.

User Comment Inspired on September 29, 2012

How did your team become so great?!? Do you train like high schoolers or what?

who cares! as much as that offends people about saying that she was the most exciting and fun, she was still a part of it. and she would of been part of our 10th place win if she didnt hurt her leg. shedoesnt need like a charity for her. hoenestly, i think it would help if you didnt talk to her about it. it reminds her of all the bad things that happened. giving her things only makes it worse. im not saying dont help her but im saying keep it low. dont gov up to her and hug her in tears and bring her 500 presents saying im sorry! cause chances are shell laugh and say why? she doesnt want to remeber the fire. i know this for a fact. shes like my sister.

it was supposed to say 3,000 and she was barely on the team

Almost every invite has shirts so you can get them at Channahon and Sectionals. Channahon is definitely a spike course.

User Comment Anonymous on September 28, 2012

At channahon should we wear spikes?

User Comment Anonymous on September 27, 2012

are there going to be tshirts at channahon and sectionals?

User Comment Anonymous on September 27, 2012

go to the Facebook page and there was a conversation started about this. i think they posted some sizes but, to anyone else, post if you know what sizes they wear. https://www.facebook.com/ymsxc?ref=ts

User Comment parent on September 27, 2012

What size clothing could they use...does anyone know?

User Comment Anonymous on September 27, 2012

i don't care about that. they need support. would you like it if your house caught on fire and you lost a lot of belongings in the fire? and $300 really isn't that much especially since they have 3 teenage daughters. jeans roughly cost $20-30 a piece and shirts $10-20 a piece, running clothes for Sydney ( i don't know if her sisters do any sports or not) as well as clothing for their parents, shoes about $20 for a pair and it's getting close to winter so they will need warm clothing which costs a lot more than t shirts and shorts. be grateful that it wasn't your house. Sydney was the most fun and exciting people on the team last year. insurance doesn't really pay for much, in the long run. they still need somewhere to eat everyday, as well. don't talk like that until you've gone through it yourself.

just saying, so far, they have more.insurance si giving them 3,00$ for clothes. and more for food. im not saying dont help, but they did save alot in the fire to. they got it cleaned up and found more then they thought that survived.

I'm just putting this on here from facebook in case anyone didn't see it: We had some sad news from our cross country family. The Beach family had a fire in their home earlier this week and will be displaced for 3 to 6 months. Luckily, no one was injured, but they will be living in a hotel during that time and only have about a week's worth of clothing and food at this point. Sydney Beach is currently a freshman on the high school cross country team and was a member of our YMS team for two years. If you can spare food, clothing, or dog food for their dog we're sure they would really appreciate the help. If you have any items to donate you can bring them to Kurt Holubetz at the high school.
