Congrats Alexx Nauman and Zak Arcara
July 25, 2012

We always like recognizing our current and former runners so we're going to recognize one of each with this post.
Alexx Nauman, who is going into 8th grade this season, became the first YMS cross country runner (that we know of) to run a half marathon while still in middle school. Alexx ran the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in Chicago over the weekend with a time of 1:47.41. That's covering 13.1 miles with a mile pace of 8:13, which was good enough for third in his age group. Congratlations, Alexx!
Zak Arcara was an 8th grader on our first YMS cross country team back in 2008. We didn't have team captains back then, but now that he is a senior on the high school team he has been chosen as the boys' team captain. Typically the high school only picks one or two cross country captains of each gender so this is a great honor for Zak. Congratulations, Zak, and make us proud this season!
