Home Meet: Part 1

September 6, 2011

Everyone did a great job at our first home meet at Hoover. The times were slow because of the massive hill and terrain during the second mile, but we still had some PRs. The boys even won the meet with half our team and the girls came in a close second. The results are below along with all of the PRs.

What time will the bus be leaving from YMS for the Belvidere meet on Saturday? What time can we expect it to return the runners to YMS after the meet?

Coach Miller hit the nail on the head: even at the High School level, we aren't as focused on winning as we are on improving. So long as we keep improving, our team will always do well. A former coach of mine always said "you always have a good time at a cross country meet." So long as you did your best, the outcome was a success.

And don't worry about wins/losses in cross country. What matters is improvement, and we have seen a lot of improvement from this team over the past month. As long as that continues we will see success when it matters at the end of the season.

Something went wrong with the 7th grade girls times so we have to wait for the official results of those. The 8th grade times are there, though.
