The Hunter Hustle
April 19, 2011
Here's a chance for cross country runners (or anyone for that matter) to make a difference in our community. Hunter Darnell is the 2-year-old son of Yorkville wrestling coach Shane Darnell, and was diagnosed with Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome when he was born. He has already been through multiple surgeries and the nature of the syndrome means he is due for many more.
You can help by participating in the Hunter Hustle on May 15. The community will be running at least 100 miles at the Yorkville High School track, although no individual runner will run for more than 15 minutes, which anyone on our team should be able to handle. Runners are asked to collect at least $100 in pledges by May 2.
Even if you do not want to participate in the run you can show up for the Hunter Hustle, anyway, and donate money to the cause. There will be food, a jump house, and a teacher dunk tank. All proceeds from the event will go straight to the Darnell family.
We hope you will be able to participate in the Hunter Hustle however you can. Show this community what Yorkville cross country can do. You can go to the Hunter Hustle website for more information.
