Another State Trophy For Yorkville
November 7, 2010
The Yorkville High School Foxes had an even better day at the IHSA State Cross Country Meet this season than they did last season. The boys team improved over last year's State finish by placing 8th. With a young team, and the addition of some great freshmen next season, they should be contending for the top spots at State for the next few years to come.
The top individual for the boys was sophomore Eric Baker, who finished in 47th place with a time of 15:31. YMS cross country alum and sophomore Zak Arcara finished 4th for the Foxes in 83rd with a time of 15:54. The other Fox finishers are listed below.
- Senior Scott King, 64th, 15:43
- Senior Kyle Dhuse, 82nd, 15:53
- Junior Chris Kellogg, 90th, 16:04
- Junior Jake Callahan, 102nd, 16:09
- Senior Karl Bomba, 124th, 16:31
The Yorkville Lady Foxes took home the 2nd place trophy for the 2nd straight year, and with no seniors running in the race they will definitely be a force again next season. Congratulations to the Yorkville High School team for their great success during the IHSA cross country season. Good luck during track!
Individually, junior Ali Hester, sister of YMS runner Thor, was the only All-State runner for the Foxes and finished in 10th with a time of 17:34. The other girls finishing for the Lady Foxes are listed below.
- Sophomore Casey Kramer, 28th, 18:03
- Junior Esther Bell, 36th, 18:13
- Junior Leena Palmer, 44th, 18:22
- Sophomore Bree Steupfert (Sister of Brook), 61st, 18:33
