The Troy Invitational
September 17, 2010
This Saturday's Troy Invite is one of the biggest cross country meets in the country. There will be around 50 teams at the meet and some of the top teams in the state will be in attendance. This will be a great test of our team to see how we match up to some of the state's best teams.
The bus will be leaving at 7am so runners need to be at the middle school at 6:45 on Saturday. The 7th grade girl's race will start at 9:30am, the boys will start at 9:50am, the 8th grade girls will start at 10:30am, and the boys will start at 11am. Awards will be given to the top 25 runners in each race and the top 4 teams. While we can't win the overall meet because we don't have 6th graders we could get some other awards. Parking is not allowed at Hammel Woods, but free parking is available at nearby Holy Cross Church, Crumby Recreation Area, and Home Depot. A map is available to show you parking places as well as the course. When we return to Yorkville we're inviting any runners and their families to join us at Silver Dollars for lunch. Runners will need a ride to the restaurant and a ride home as well.
As for Thursday's home meet, our girls finished second behind an incredible Kaneland team, and our boys finished first. Even though we have an incredibly tough course we still had a number of personal records set. Additionally, Erin Reynolds, Luke Hoffert, and Olivia Reese set team records for our home course. Congrats to all of our runners!
