The First Time Trial

A lot more runners participated in our first time trial than I expected. I made this time trial optional and was planning it to be just for our top two groups, but most of our runners stepped up and ran, which was great to see. Even our runners who didn't run the time trial ran their entire route without walking, which was one of our goals for this first week.
The time trial went extremely well, and it's good to see so many runners running great times already. You can see the results in the Results/Records section of the website.
We also had two team records go down. Both boy's records for the 2-mile time trial were eclipsed. Not only that, but we had multiple runners beat both records. Cody Hornyak and Thor Hester beat the 7th grade boy's record with times of 14:30 and 14:14, respectively. For the 8th graders, James Daugherty, Luke Hoffert, and Jake Hoffert beat the previous time with their own times of 13:40, 13:05, and 13:03. Although Thor and Jake will be in the records section of the website it is good to recognize all of our great runners.
Finally, the runners were told this year that they would get their uniforms as soon as they could run an entire race without walking. This was their first opportunity to do so and we would like to recognize all the runners who finished the 2-mile race without walking once. You can see their names below. Great job everyone!
